A place where professional classical and contemporary dance education go hand in hand
The professional Dance education at the link will be a very versatile education, where classical ballet and contemporary dance go hand in hand. With inputs from many different dance stiles for example urban dance, with all its different sub-styles and colours. Also martial arts and body mind classes will provide a strong base for an all round dancer with a lot of possibilities. We want to be able to provide young dancers the knowledge they need to become part of the dance world in many different ways. First of all as a dancer, but also give them the possibility to continue there education at one of the many univeristies with bachelor educations in Switzerland and Europe. There they can deepen there abilities in dance, teaching to eventually top it off with a master in choreography. Of course our main view is the dance world in all it different aspects, but we are well aware that maybe during the education a young person changes his or her interests. That’s why we combine our education with Gymnasium or KV education, to give them all the possibilities they need.

support our students
Seen from our World- and society-view, education should be accessible to all people. Education should not yield economic benefits. Based on these assumptions, professional dance training at the link is structured as a “non-profit organisation”. All the funds/fees that are received in excess, flows back into education. This is how we contribute to making this education affordable. Nevertheless, we also need outside help for financially challenged families to enable there children to do this education. With the options below, you can help to support them:
The link’s philosophy is that every talented dancer who wishes to train should be offered the opportunity to do so. In an effort to make this philosophy a reality, we need an certain amount of money every year to support those of our students in need of additional financial support.
This is where you can help. Why not donate to our Student stipendien Fund to support students directly? The Fund helps to pay for the day to day necessities of being a student of dance – ballet shoes, tights, travel, auditions, accommodation costs, and tuition fees. These expenses can mount up as the year progresses.
Through your support, you can enable a student who demonstrates creative potential, excellence and financial need to access or continue their training to achieve their maximum potential.
CHF 20 – pays for a pair of soft ballet shoes (a typical student uses up to 12 pairs a year)
Some examples of the difference your donation can make to a young dancer’s training:
CHF 90 – pays for a pair of pointe shoes (a female dance student may go through 10 pairs each year)
CHF 200 – covers the cost to attend a EU audition
CHF 150 – pays for dancewear for one student for the year
CHF 500 – pays for one month’s accommodation costs
ca. CHF 4000 – pays for one term of tuition fees for a student
One of the most rewarding ways to help our students is to sponsor our students so they can fulfill their dream of professional dancing. We trust in individuals, businesses and large companies to support these exceptional young dancers. You can choose one of our young ones Assisting and supporting students who need financial support to enable this student education.
The funding of a student costs about CHF 12,000 per year (students train for 4 – 5 years). If you sponsor a student, you can track the progress of your education and know that your success has been achieved through your generosity.
In order to enable foreign students to receive training, we need overnight accommodation in the area of Bern / Jegenstorf. If you have a family room for rent, you can allow a foreign student to study with us.
To support our students in any kind of these possibilities, please contact Rolf Ackermann trough our contact form just below or call the link-office at 031 762 03 03
